About Ashfield

Ashfield is situated in the north-west of Nottinghamshire, lying just 11 miles north of Nottingham City. The District has excellent communication corridors through the A38 and Junctions 27 and 28 of the M1. The Robin Hood Line runs north-south with 3 stations in Ashfield connecting to Nottingham City and Worksop, with the Nottingham Tram running to and from Hucknall. Ashfield is also close to Nottingham East Midlands Airport and the new Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood Airport. The District's location is so central that 70% of the nation's population can be reached within 3 hours.

The State of Ashfield

During 2005, the Ashfield Partnership commissioned the Local Futures Group to undertake an up-to-date Economic, Social and Environmental Audit of the District of Ashfield. The results of this audit will be fed into the Partnership's strategic review process with the aim of informing its Integrated Community and Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy 2006-2012.
