"The Council’s is committed, through its Equalities Policy to ensuring equality of opportunity in employment and in the provision of its services. Individuals and groups will not be discriminated against on the grounds of gender, gender reassignment, colour, race, nationality, ethnic or racial origins, disability, marital status, sexuality, trade union activity, age, political or religious beliefs or because they live with HIV/AIDS."

This statement can be found in our Corporate Equality Plan.

  • We at Ashfield District Council do not want it to be just a statement on a piece of paper or something read on the internet.
  • We do not want to just tick a box.
  • We want Equality of Opportunity for all, whether as an employee or a service user, whether a resident or a visitor.

Equality Impact Assessments

What are Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs)?

Legislation covering Race, Gender and Disability requires that we identify where inequality exists in our service delivery and address it in a systematic way.

Equality Impact Assessments are a way of achieving this when we assess our policies, functions and practises and determine:

  1. The extent of differential impact
  2. Whether any differential impact is adverse
  3. Any changes that may be needed

Completed Equality Impact Assessments

"Equality Impact Assessments" will appear here as they are completed.
