Privately Rented Tenancies Advice

||
If you are a tenant in a privately rented house, there are a number of council services which may be of benefit to you, as follows:

Disrepair

If your landlord is refusing to carry out repairs to your property for which he has responsibility, then the Council has powers to legally require him to carry them out in certain circumstances.

Illegal Eviction and Harassment

If you consider you are being harassed or illegally evicted by your landlord, the Council can give you advice on your rights under the law and in certain circumstances take action against your landlord.

If you are a landlord of a private house, then the Council can give you advice or information on your obligations under the relevant legislation.
